Ιn the Holy Hill Pnyx will turn this year’s “Flame of Hope, marking the official start of Summer Games Special Olympics 2011, to be held in Athens and will last until July 4.

The games relate to people with intellectual disabilities and this year arranged for the first time in Greece, involving 7,500 athletes.Athletes will compete in twenty sports an overall, while the vast majority expected the turnout coaches, judges, referees, volunteers, and journalists covering the event.

The “Flame of Hope” will travel to five continents, carrying the message of the Games and will return to Athens to light the altar at the Panathenaic Stadium Panathenaic.

However, the flame will make the journey and the Peloponnese, passing on June 19 from Zakynthos in Kyllini and then will tour Amaliada Tower and will stay overnight in Ancient Olympia, where there will be a special ceremony.

The next day, the flame will leave for Kyparissia and there Pylos, Messina, Messina Ancient and spend the night in Kalamazoo.Mani is the next stop, after 21 June will go from Plain, Kardamyli, Stoupa, Aghios Nikolaos, Areopolis and will result in Gytheio, where he has already prepared a special ceremony in the port city.

On June 22 the flame will pass through stairs and from there to Vlachiotis, Mola, Monemvasia, resulting in Sparta, where they will overnight. The flame will remain in the Peloponnese until June 23, passing from Megalopolis, Karytaina, Tripoli and ending in Nafplion Argos.
