Ο Δήμος εκφράζει την ικανοποίησή της Αιγιαλείας Σάββατο, 11 Ιουνίου 2011 η «Φλόγα της Ελπίδας για τους Παγκόσμιους Αγώνες Special Olympics – Αθήνα 2011

The City welcomes Aigialia Saturday, June 11, 2011 the “Flame of Hope for the World Games Special Olympics – Athens 2011.

The only races in the world where all the participating athletes are winners.

Winners in their struggle for respect for our differences.

Winners in their struggle for self-esteem.

Winners in their struggle to defend their individual capacities.

From 25 June to 4 July 2011 in Athens, 7,000 Special Olympics athletes from 180 countries will participate in 22 Olympic-type sports. Our city is proud to participate in this premier sporting event, hosting the “Flame of Hope” and participate in the Torch Relay.

The program for the region Akratas as follows:

13:00 Opening Torch Relay on the beach of the Aegean Avenue Akratas 13:15 End of the Torch Relay and departure for Aigio.

The program for the region of Aegio as follows:

13:45 Opening of the Torch Relay route and across Canal Street and King Feraiou Kleomenous Economou arrival at the square of Agia Lavra. The Flame will accompany the cyclists of the Group of Rhodes.

14:00 Ceremony host of the “Flame of Hope Square with St. Lavra
participation of the Philharmonic Aigion Choir Diakopto He made the – Disabled Aigion pupils of elementary schools in the region and presentation program gymnastic displays under the supervision of Professor of Physical Education Mr. Bill Kostaridis.

14:45: End of ceremony. Check through Kleomenous Economou and Metropolis. Closed at the Torch Light road Metropolis and Solomos.
