With excitement and pride Polygyros will host the June 16, 2011 Flame of Hope. The symbolism is sacred because it conveys the humanitarian values ​​of respect for diversity, solidarity and love for fellow man.

The Flame will arrive in our city thanks to the volunteers runner officers from around the world was brought together athletes with Special Olympics. They are called Guardians of Hope and optimism for a better world.

The wonderful journey of love will end Friday, June 24 in Athens, where the Torchbearer will carry the Flame of Hope to all the cultural monuments of the capital. The Flame will stay overnight in the Acropolis, the Parthenon in front, with an honor guard, according to Olympic standards – Evzoni the Presidential Guard.

The Flame of Hope will arrive in Polygyros in Six Fountains Square, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11.30 am.

The program is as follows:

11.45 Opening Torch Relay.

Course: Six-Pedestrian-Fountains-Town Square heroon.

12.00 Opening ceremony.

Symbolic lighting of the altar by students of the Special School Polygyros
